About Beth

Susan “Beth” McGee, NP
Originally from North Alabama, Beth earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of North Alabama. Her nursing career in Alabama included seven years as an ICU nurse, cardiac rehabilitation nurse, nurse educator, and the first nurse admitting managing in Alabama.
In the winter of 1996, Beth decided she had taken all she could of the heat and humidity. She had narrowed down that the heat was a major component to her daily migraines since childhood. With husband and dog in tow, they headed to Sanders County where she accepted a job managing six federally qualified rural health clinics. While in Sanders County, she also was a home health and hospice nurse, and nurse educator.
Her husband was working at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula and commuting. Not only was that unsafe but financially stressing. The first nurse educator position that became available was soon pursued and obtained. They moved to Florence creating a shorter commute.
Now with over 20 years of nursing experience and a desire to take it to the next level, she enrolled in Gonzaga University’s Nurse Practitioner program. Three years later, she received a Masters of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Although the daily migraines did improve in the cooler climate, they did not disappear. After about a year of working in family practice, she branched off into neurology to learn more about migraines.
She now has pain free days!
